The COVID pandemic has definitely caused some changes in our daily lives and how we socialize. Before March I may have used Zoom once possibly. Now, I have a Zoom meeting with my friends every other Tuesday to play a silly game and to chat. We usually play Skribbl.io, Categories (a take on Scattergories board game), or Uno. After a round or two we just visit and chat which is really enjoyable. The games are dumb and at first we mostly had technical snafus but that even amused us. We were starving for socialization and since JoAnne had been doing it with her family for a few weeks she thought it would be fun for us. Even after the pandemic subsides, I think I will want to continue this. We live hours apart and we do not get to visit as often as we would like, so it is a great way to spend some quality time together. My teenagers already do online gaming with Minecraft, Roblox and Animal Crossing so this was nothing new to them. However, playing with their grandparents was a new territory. So we fired up the computers one day and invited the Grands and let me tell you – they are competitive! Grammom loves her grandkids but she is IN IT TO WIN IT! LOL There is no, “let the kids win” mentality in our family. If a kid wins she DESERVES it. If you are interested in doing a friend or family game night via Zoom, check these games out: https://skribbl.io or https://scattergoriesonline.net/new-game.xhtml. If you are feeling especially spry try Among Us http://www.innersloth.com/gameAmongUs.php. My kiddos were very surprised how good at Among Us I was. I was a very convincing Imposter and I think they were a bit disturbed at how well I could deceive them. Haha. I have not been invited back to play.

Why haven’t we played Among Us?

Let’s do it! It’s free on iOS devices. You can’t play it on Macs (Not really. Soon I think). It’s 5$ on Windows via Steam. And worth every penny.
