Sunday I cooked a lot. I took a few pictures, so y’all get to see them, whether you want to or not.
I made strawberry jam, strawberry lemonade concentrate, and a strawberry pie.
I made baked beans, slaw, and chopped pork “bbq”.
We ate too much, and it was lovely.
The strawberry jam and strawberry lemonade concentrate were recipes out of my favorite cookbook, The Ball Guide to Canning. https://amzn.to/2OsHjsf

The strawberry pie was this recipe: https://houseofnasheats.com/fresh-strawberry-pie-without-jell-o/
If I were to change any thing on this pie, I would use only 7 cups of strawberries, chop them smaller (cutting and eating the pie was a mess) and I would puree 2 cups into the glaze so there was more “glue” to hold it all together. But that’s all structural – the taste was exactly what I was after.
The “BBQ” pork was this recipe: https://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2016/07/sous-vide-barbecue-pulled-pork-shoulder-recipe.html
It’s not smoked or even cooked on a grill, but it is moist, tender and delicious.
And you can’t have bbq without slaw. I think there’s a law about it. I’ve always made my own slaw – it’s so easy. But a lot of people just buy premade stuff, or that expensive bottled slaw dressing. So I made a video, to show you just how easy slaw is to make. Enjoy!
Your slaw is slways yummy. Mine never turns out right. I think I was using too much mayo.
